YAP JIA CHENG

Yap Jia Cheng is 23 years old this year and since his birthday has not passed, he still wants to refer himself as a 22-year-old to feel younger. Don’t let his tough exterior fool you, he is actually a shy person. However, once you start to know him, his true outspoken colours will shine through. Many have questioned his choice in studying Interior Architecture but it’s his father, an interior designer working in a carpentry firm, that has inspired this passion in him since a young age. He knew he wanted to be an Interior Architect as early as primary school. He wants to follow in his father’s footsteps. He also like that Interior Architecture allows him to solves problems in a creative way and the challenge of integrating spaces with colour, texture, light, type of material to apply and so on. In all honesty, he states that he had a rough start with the course but for his future, he perseveres. Aside from that, Yap is an athlete and has represented the state of Terengganu for Taekwondo. Although having an impressive sports career in Taekwondo, he still chose to focus more on his studies. He is determine man who has his eyes set on his career.
